Philip uses string to re-tell ancient stories from around the world. String illustration brings a story to life. He is happy to give lectures and demonstrations on the mathematical and anthropology aspects of string figures and has much experience in leading workshops on this subject.
In 2008 Agosto TV Barcelona, invited Philip to design, teach and also feature in their commercial 'Cuerdas' (strings) for Audi cars.
With the help of his younger son he taught a group of thirty puppeteers, dancers and magicians to make 15 large-scale string games representing parts of a car.
The 90-second film took four days to complete and was filmed in Prague.
